Phyllis Godwin has been appointed to the NTEA – The Work Truck Association Board of Directors.

Godwin’s story is one of dedication, leadership and a deep commitment to community. She began working at 16 years old in her family’s small welding and repair business in Dunn, N.C. Over time, she worked her way through nearly every role in the company.

Today, she serves as corporate vice president and part-owner of The Godwin Group, the nation’s largest family-owned truck body and equipment manufacturer.

“Here in Harnett County, we are fortunate to see her leadership firsthand. As former Chair and current Secretary/Treasurer of the Harnett Economic Development Corporation (HEDC), Phyllis has played a key role in advancing industrial product development and supporting quality job creation,” shared County leadership in a LinkedIn post praising Godwin’s accomplishments.

Godwin’s appointment to the NTEA Board at Work Truck Week reflects the kind of leadership that strengthens industries and communities alike.

Established in 1964, NTEA – The Work Truck Association, a 501(c)(6) organization, represents more than 2,100 companies that manufacture, distribute, install, sell and repair commercial vehicles, truck bodies, truck equipment, trailers and accessories.
