This July, the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County will unveil ArtScape 9, the latest installment of its transformative public art initiative. Celebrated for converting downtown into an immersive open-air gallery, ArtScape continues to define Fayetteville’s creative spirit while attracting thousands of visitors each year.
Running from July 2025 through June 2026, ArtScape 9 will showcase a dynamic collection of outdoor sculptures and installations in prominent locations throughout downtown Fayetteville. This year’s program builds on the momentum of previous cycles, which collectively draw more than 150,000 residents and visitors annually.
Public art is more than a cultural enhancement—it’s an economic catalyst. ArtScape increases foot traffic, stimulates spending at nearby shops and restaurants, and reinforces Fayetteville’s growing reputation as a regional destination for arts and culture tourism. Visitors from across the state and Southeast seek out the installations, often using the Arts Council’s Otocast mobile app to explore the exhibition through an interactive audio tour.
“As more travelers prioritize unique cultural experiences, ArtScape positions downtown Fayetteville as a place where creativity lives on every corner,” said Robert C. Pinson, President and CEO of the Arts Council. “It turns our city into a gallery without walls—free, walkable, and accessible to all.”
